Rangers looking to improve district standings with victory over Graham

GREENWOOD – The Greenwood football team currently sits fourth in the District 3-4A standings and is almost assured a playoff berth, but the Rangers would rather pick up a couple more wins and move up the standings.

Rangerettes sweep district championships

GREENWOOD – District champions abound as both the Greenwood junior varsity and Greenwood freshmen volleyball teams finished the district seasons 9-1 to win their respective District 3-4A titles. The junior varsity won its last two matches over Seminole and Pecos in straight sets.

Cross country wraps up season at regionals

LUBBOCK – The Greenwood cross country teams were in Lubbock on Tuesday competing in the Region I 4A Cross County Championship at Mae Simmons Park. The Greenwood girls ran the 3200 meter course and finished 10th overall.

Rangerettes still perfect in district play

Greenwood remains perfect in District 3-4A picking up two more wins this week. The Rangerettes won a back-and-forth battle with Andrews 21-25, 25-17, 25-16, 16-25, 15-10 Saturday at the Andrews ISD Performance Center.

It was an exciting weekend for the Outlaws and Rangers as the two groups battled each other in the Best of Greenwood. In the Flag Division, the Rangers (5-1) beat the Outlaws (4-2) by the slimmest of margins 13-12.

The Rangerettes had some tough competition with the Pecos Lady Eagles last week. 7th Grade A Greenwood got off to a strong start in set one with Libero Hadley Keele serving 20 points in a row to lead the team to a 25-9 victory.
