Cross country wraps up season at regionals

Body LUBBOCK – The Greenwood cross country teams were in Lubbock on Tuesday competing in the Region I 4A Cross County Championship at Mae Simmons Park. The Greenwood girls ran the 3200 meter course and finished 10th overall.

Body - It was an exciting weekend for the Outlaws and Rangers as the two groups battled each other in the Best of Greenwood. In the Flag Division, the Rangers (5-1) beat the Outlaws (4-2) by the slimmest of margins 13-12.

Body - The Rangerettes had some tough competition with the Pecos Lady Eagles last week. 7th Grade A Greenwood got off to a strong start in set one with Libero Hadley Keele serving 20 points in a row to lead the team to a 25-9 victory.

Body – Greenwood was not able to hold off Canyon after a terrific start to Friday’s non-district game at Happy State Bank Stadium in Canyon. Greenwood scored at the end of the first half and stopped Canyon on its last possession to lead 21-14 at the half.
