Seven Signs of a Changed Life
The first stanza of a famous old Hymn begins “What a wonderful change in my life has been wrought since Jesus came into my heart” Without a doubt the greatest proof of being Born Again in Jesus is “A changed Life.” The child of God suddenly has a Love inside them that surpasses anything they have ever imagined. The seven signs are; He loves Jesus: Before salvation the person might hold Christ in high esteem, but after conversion they truly love the Savior. It is no longer a thought of as religion but now it is a relationship with Jesus.[1 John 5:1-2]. You can see it in their eyes, the window of the soul.
He loves the Bible: We should love the word of God as the psalmist did in Psalm 119. David expressed his love for God 17 times. It is a love that cannot be expressed in only human form.
He loves other Christians: We know that we have passed from death to Life, because we love the brethren.[1 John 3:14].
He Loves his Enemies: ‘But I say love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you. [Matt.5:44].
He Loves the Souls of all People: Now he cries out for the conversions of his loved ones.
“Brethren, my heart’s desire and prayer to God for Israel is that they may be saved”[Rom.10:1].
He loves the pure life: John says if one loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him” [1John 2:1517]. “Love has been perfected among us in this: that we may have boldness in the day of judgment; because as He is, so are we in this world. [1 John 4:17].We do what Jesus did.
He Loves to Talk to God: “Speaking to one another in Psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord [Eph. 5:19].
Each of these topics could take days to say all there is to say about them. However if we look at them, the main thing we see is, when we become a child of the Living God we are filled with Love. I have seen many Christians who look like they have been eating sour pickles, depressed and bitter about life. Just know it does not have to be that way. It may be that those people have backed off from the first two of these seven signs.
If we truly love Jesus and stay in His word, the other five loves will be in place. Fear runs along with unhappiness, fear I won’t get my way, things are not what I thought it would be. Faith in who Jesus Christ will cast down fear. “There is no fear in love; but perfect love cast out fear, because fear involves torment. But he who fears has not been made perfect in love. We love Him because He first loved us. If someone says I love God and hates his brother, he is a liar; for he who does not love his brother who he has seen, how can he love God who he has not seen? And this commandment we have from Him: that He who loves God must love his brother”[ 1 John 4:18-21].
It is not too late to set ourselves up for change. The Father is quick to forgive. We want to make new relationships through forgiveness, service and love. Jesus said we would do the same things He did [John 14:12]. We want to allow God to have His way in our life so He can reveal through us “The seven Signs of a Changed Life”
