GREENWOOD Greenwood ISD has a goal to reduce the spread of communicable dieseases on Greenwood campuses and to promote a healthy environment for students attending school.
Some guidelines were created to help parents understand when to leave their sick kid home.
Have a fever, stay home until fever free for 24 hours without medication.
Sore throat, red and swollen tonsils, persistent cough, stay home and see a doctor.
Vomiting or diarrhea, stay home until symptom free for 24 hours.
Head lice issues, treat the child with the appropriate medicated shampoo before sending them to school.
Pink eye, red and swollen and has drainage, do not attend school until seen by a doctor and its been 24 hours after treatment.
Rashes can be caused by many things so its best to only return to school after checked out and released by a doctor.
