Power of the Tongue
A man’s stomach shall be satisfied from the fruit of his mouth, and from the produce of his lips he shall be filled. [Prov.18:20]. We see from this, we can speak words that are positive or negative and they will fill our belly with the definition of what that word means. Words are seeds and they produce the nature of the seed.
An example is “My God supplies all my needs according to His riches in Glory Through Christ Jesus”, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” We can be filled with the word, the seed of God ” Or we can fill our lives, our bellies with “Every winter I get sick” here the word sick is generic, it is left open for the devil to choose what kind of sickness comes on that person the next winter. The person could have said every winter I have the flu, in the spring I have hay fever or allergies.” Sometimes we can choose what it is we plan to have. What about “Every time we get ready to go on vacation, the kids get sick. Many times, people say “well I really didn’t mean that I just meant---”The seed does not know what you meant, the seed just does what it was created to do. One cotton seed can bring forth a stalk that possibly produce 50 to 100 seeds. Our words can do the same. God created all things to produce more of its like kind.
“Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat it’s fruit” [v.21]. Good or bad, some love to feast on the word of God, then there are those who can’t find anything good to say about anything or anybody. “He who has knowledge spares his words, and a man of understanding of a calm spirit. Even a fool is counted wise when he holds his peace; When he shuts his lips, he is considered perceptive” [Prov. 17:27-28].
Each of us will be eating the fruit of our words, filling our life, filling our bellies with the words we speak, even if we hate the taste. If we believe John 3:16, and we do, then we have to believe all scriptures, whether we like them or not.
“I say to you that for every idle word men may speak, they will give account of it in the day of judgment for by your words you will be justified and by your words you will be condemned” [Matt.12:36-- 37]. Words produce Fruit; “by their fruit you will recognize them”[Matt.7:16]. bad fruit is influenced by Satan. “now the works of the flesh are evident which are; adultery, fornication, uncleanness, licentiousness, idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outburst of wrath [temper], selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies, envy, murders, drunkenness, rivalries, and the lack; of which I tell you beforehand just as I also told you in times past that those who practice such things will not inherit the Kingdom of God. But the fruit of the spirit is love, joy, peace, long-suffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law and those who are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with it passions and desires if we live in the spirit let us also walk in Why waste anymore of your life with emptiness and lack of real purpose?
Jesus knew you before the world began, He created and formed you in your mothers womb. He had a plan for you and a purpose that far passes anything you could ever imagine. You will never really be happy until you are in the place God created you to fit into. No one can do that for you, God gave us free choice. No person is too bad for him to Love.
No sin is too horrible for Him to forgive. Just ask Him to forgive you and please come into your heart. Then Believe in what He has already done! You see, He didn’t waste his time, coming to earth and dying on the cross for your sins, if it wasn’t going to work!
You are part of that white field that He wants to gather unto Himself and Love for all eternity. Today is the day of Salvation.
