- For 42 years, the Greenwood Volunteer Fire Department has responded to calls for help in Greenwood.
The department started in 1984 with nine men and women: John Fretwell, Andy Glasscock, Lynn Glascock, Charlie Hall, Connie Little, Dale Little, Eric Metzger, Jim Reynolds and Ron Souter.
Andy Glasscock served as the department's first fire chief, with Dale Little serving as assistant chief.
