On Wednesday, March 5, the Greenwood High School debate team hit the road for a three-day trip to Houston to participate in a state debate tournament. The team will face off against 1,500 students from across Texas, including competitors from 6A schools. Andrick Rodriguez shattered a 34-year-old school record in the 400m with a blazing 50.44 at the Monahans Sandhills Relays! He also placed 3rd in the 200m (23.29) and helped the 1,600m relay (3:21.94) take 1st, leading the Rangers to a team title.
The Rangerettes competed at the Regional Powerlifting meet last week. Kim Olivas (pictured) – 775 total, 2nd place and State qualifier; Kaitlin Underdown – 770 total, 5th place; Angel Smith - 735 total, 1st place and State qualifier; Daniela Holguin - 720 total, 2nd place and State qualifier; Elena Brentley - 610 total, 3rd place; Mari Barrera - 480 total, 6th place.
