– Greenwood’s sub varsity Rangerettes have been playing some good teams recently winning some games and dropping some others.
The junior high teams faced some stiff competition against Andrews last week.
The seventh ‘A’ team lost 48-20 while the ‘B’ team fell in an overtime nail biter 26-23.
The Rangerette eighth grade ‘A’ team continues to prove their strengths on the floor holding Andrews to 22 points while offensively putting up 59. Emily Jones led all scorers with 26 and Lexi Stewart added 14 points and 8 rebounds.
The eighth grade ‘B’ team fell just short of victory by a score of 31-29.
The freshman team took in Miles. Greenwood fell behind in the early minutes but rallied with a big second quarter to take the lead. Once ahead they never looked back and the Ragnerettes won 28-25.
Jackson was high point with 16 followed by Tiemann with nine and Deerman three.
The junior varsity team crushed Veribest. After taking a 32-9 halftime lead, Greenwood coasted in the second half to a 60-15 victory.
Strickland had a game high 15 points while Guzman and Compton helped the team with 11 and 10 points respectively.
Franks tossed in nine points followed by Vasquez with eight, Kiesner four, and Flores three.
