– Greenwood split its two district volleyball games this week to move to 3-3 is District play. The Rangerettes fast start ended is disaster as District foe Pecos rallied from two sets down to beat Greenwood in five sets. The first two sets went perfectly with Greenwood winning 27-25 and 25-17. But momentum is a fickle beast and after her alliance changed, Pecos ran off three sets 22-25, 14-25, 5-15 to steal the victory. Ashlyn Lang and Kate Cruck dominated the net with 13 kills each and five and three blocks respectively.
Presley Watzl finished the match with 21 digs while Morgan Beard and Madison Willis had 14 assists each.

Tuesday’s match with Fort Stockton was the exact opposite as the Rangerettes had a pitiful start losing the first two sets 12-25 and 1925.
But the Rangerettes rubbed the sleep out of their eyes and smashed the Lady Panthers over the next three sets 25-21, 25-15, 16-14.
Lang and Crunk owned the net with 14 kills and nine blocks respectively while Watzl and Pando controlled the back with 35 digs and 30 assists respectively.
