The Rangers flag got the day off to a good start with a 21-13 win. The MVP of the game for the Rangers was Ryann Wright. The Freshman group left no doubt in their game as they ran over the 39’ers 33-0. Britten Ramirez also made some huge contributions in the win and took home the offensive MVP honors. The defensive MVP went to EJ Quintana. The much anticipated varsity game was a rematch of last season’s championship between Greenwood and Andrews. From beginning to end, the Rangers dominated the game on both sides of the ball, winning 34-0. Brock Hughes took home the MVP award, using his arm and his legs to make big plays for the Rangers offense all day. The offensive MVP award went to Grayson Leatherwood, who was coming off of an injury early in the season. His third and fourth down plays helped the Rangers move the ball down the field each possession. Defensive back Turner Edmondson took home the MVPaward. His open field tackles and great coverage helped keep the 39’ers offense in check. Perhaps the best performance of the day came from the Rangers offensive line, who was led by Adam Valenzuela. Time and time again, he helped pave the way for big plays, earning him the lineman MVP for the game.

Next week the Rangers travel to Big Spring to take on the Steers in Memorial Stadium in the first divisional game of the season for both teams.

The Outlaw PBYFL Flag team had a back-and-fourth battle with Stanton. Big plays by Royce Cox down the stretch led the Outlaws to victory.

Cox was named the games MVP while other Player of the Game awards went to Brayden Hollums on Offensive, Layton Curiel on Defensive, and Chino Parada for Lineman. The Freshmen Outlaws needed overtime as they were tied with Stanton at 14-14 after regulation. After stopping the Buffs on their overtime possession, Greenwood’s Bowen Martin carried the Outlaw’s offense with a big fourth down conversion and then scored the game winning touchdown. He was named the games MVP. Also earning honors were Lane Ramirez on offense, Britton Mann on defense, and Colton Robertson for Lineman.

In the junior varsity contest, both the Outlaws and Buffaloes scored one touchdown. But it was the Buffaloes getting a safety that earn them the extra two points and the 8-6 win.

Camden Terry was the Outlaws MVP and Top Defender, while Carter Hogan took offensive honors and Cyrus Murphy took Lineman honors.

In the last game of the day, the varsity Buffs narrowly beat the Outlaws 8-6.
