GREENWOOD - Nellie Maxine Roberts, age 91, died on June 4, 2024 and was born Nov. 15, 1932 to the late Victor Allen Porter and Verla Lindsey Porter in Willard, Missouri.
She got her formal education all the way into college and was a secretary in her younger days. She enjoyed her family, especially watching her grandchildren grow up. She was always ready to play a game of skipbo or dominos or cast a line and go fishing.
Left to cherish her memories are her daughter Cheryl Hart and husband Steve of Midland, Rick Maddox and wife Kara of Greenwood, James 'Jimmy' Maddox and wife Paula of Midland, John Maddox and wife Debbie of Cibolo; 10 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren and six great great grandchildren.
Visitation was June 10, at Avalos-Sanchez and Thomas Funeral Home Chapel. followed by a graveside service at Resthaven Memorial Park in Midland, with Lloyd Wells of Spring Creek Fellowship of Big Spring.
Pallbearers were Jimmy Maddox, John Maddox, Rick Maddox, Bo Murray, Harland Ray, and Chris Azlin.
Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Stanton Memorial Funeral Home.
