MIDLAND - Justina Maria Ramirez, 35, of Midland, died on May 30,2024, surrounded by her family. She was born on Aug. 17, 1988, in Midland, to Vita Ochoa. She grew up in Greenwood and attended school there, graduating in 2006. She participated in various sports such as volleyball, basketball, and softball. During her junior and high school years she was a member of the Greenwood Ranger Band playing the Oboe in which she received countless awards for. Justina was very close to her grandpa Arturo Ochoa. Every year since she was a child for Christmas, her and her grandpa would make goody bags for the elderly and deliver them to the local nursing homes. Prior to her illness, she was working at the Greenwood Country Store where she made many friendships including her beloved boss, Patrick.
On Dec. 26, 2016, Justina welcomed her first daughter J’Da Melissa Smith. J’Da gave Justina a whole new purpose in life, being a mom to her two daughters was her biggest accomplishment. She was active in all J’Da’s activities, she became a volleyball, basketball, and cheer mom. She was always her daughter’s biggest fan. On March 21, 2023, she welcomed her second daughter Mia Ra’Shay Moore. At this time as well, she received her cancer diagnosis. Justina was not going to let this stop her. As soon as she healed from giving birth, she began her chemo and radiation determined to win this battle. Justina had a big heart and a bigger sense of humor.
She is preceded in death by her grandmother Edna Ochoa, aunt Melissa Ochoa, and dad Joe Ramirez.
She is survived by her mom Vita Ochoa; her two daughters J’Da and Mia; oldest sister Jessica (Oscar); nephew Ma; brother Jesus (Victoria); younger sister Julisa Ochoa (Matthew); nieces Jayleigh, Josselyn, and Marley; youngest sister Sadiah; and Grandpa Arturo Ochoa, along with many aunts, uncles and numerous cousins.
Visitation and Rosary were June 5 at Willowbrook Funeral Home in Midland.
