UIL approves playoff change proposal in attempt to get more schools state titles

Body - The University Interscholastic League recently announced changes to the playoff formatting for the upcoming school year. For 2A-5A schools, volleyball, basketball, softball, baseball, and soccer playoffs will be divided into two divisions, similar to the 6A football playoffs.

Body - According to a press release, on June 11, 2024, Midland County Sheriff’s Office Patrol Deputies were dispatched to the 2100 block of Market Street in Midland County in reference to a body being found by a jogger.

Construction on new county jail is underway, completion slated for 2026
