Middle school GT students bring ‘passion projects’ to life
Brooks Middle School GT students Brock Hughes and Hannah Bridges present a $1,000 donation to Rangers Outreach organizers, raised through their basketball tournament passion project.
Brooks Middle School students in the Gifted and Talented program spent much of the school year working toward something that didn’t start with a test or a worksheet.
It started with a question: what do you care about?
From there, students built what GT teacher Amanda Heiser calls “passion projects,” an assignment that asks them to take an interest and turn it into something real.
