MCUD plans November bond election as water plant nears completion
The Midland County Utility District’s first water treatment facility, located next to the new Midland County jail on SCR 1140, is in its final stages of construction and is expected to begin moving water by the end of April. The plant will initially serve the jail and Greenwood ISD’s new campuses and will eventually be able to treat up to 3 million gallons per day.
Midland County Utility District General Manager Norman Ashton says education — not promises — will drive the district’s next attempt at a bond election.
