Greenwood athletes compete at 2026 TAAF Games of Texas
Greenwood eighth grader Maili Ruiz, who runs for the Midland Cheetahs Track Club, won two state titles in the 14-and-under girls division at the 2026 TAAFGames of Texas. She won the 800-meter race in 2 minutes, 22.02 seconds and the 1,600-meter race in 5:09.38. Ruiz also helped her 4x400-meter relay team win a silver medal.

BRYAN - Several Greenwood athletes competed with the Midland Cheetahs Track Club at the 2026 TAAF Games of Texas State Track Meet in Bryan.
The meet was held July 30 through Aug. 2. Athletes ages 5 to 18 competed against others in their age groups from across Texas. Each athlete had to qualify through one of 16 regional meets.
