Body – Greenwood wrapped up the non-district season in exciting fashion destroying Lubbock-Cooper Liberty 41-14, Friday night at Pirate Stadium. The Raner’s defense was slapped in the face early when Liberty broke off an 89-yard touchdown run for an early 7-0 lead.

Rangers pluck Eagles, win 56-29

Body GREENWOOD Greenwood exploded for 545 yards of total offense and 56 points to beat Pecos 56-29 in a non-district football game at J.M. King Memorial Stadium.

Body MERTZON – The Greenwood Junior High cross country teams hit the road early last week to compete at the Spring Creek Invitational in Mertzon. The seventh grade Rangerettes dominated the team competition taking first place with 36 points.

Body GREENWOOD – The Greenwood Rangers held off a late charge by the Shallowater Mustangs to win 35-24 and earn back-to-back victories for the first time this season. Greenwood jumped out to a 21-0 nothing through the first half with three straight touchdowns.

Outlaws looking good halfway through season

Body – The Greenwood Ranger’s youth football organization wrapped up the first half of the P5SL season with a perfect week in Stanton. Starting in Week 1 against the Crane Coyotes, Greenwood split the four games.

Savage, Adams pace Greenwood teams in Abilene

Body – Greenwood cross country runners headed east last weekend to compete at the Abilene XC Invitational at Sherrod Residential Park. The varsity girls competed on the 5000-meter course and were led by Mae Savage and Alyssa Barron.

Fillies beat Rangerettes in five sets

Body – The Greenwood Rangerettes (23-8) varsity volleyball team battled Shallowater for five exciting sets but came up just a couple points shy as the Fillies won 2517, 20-25, 16-25, 25-17, 15-13.
