Body – A terrific volleyball season came to an end on Tuesday as the Greenwood Rangerettes lost to the Hereford Whitefaces in the Bi-District round of the Class 4A playoffs in Denver City. Set 1 was a back-andforth battle with Hereford taking a late 22-18 advantage.

Rangers rally to beat Seminole, win district title

Body – The Greenwood Rangers pulled off the improbable last Friday night beating No. 4 state ranked Seminole Indians and winning the District 1-4A Division II trophy at J.M. King Memorial Stadium in Greenwood.

Greenwood is undefeated district champion

Body – Greenwood sophomore Mae Savage had a great day in Lubbock at the Region I-4A cross country meet as she finished 17th overall and qualified for the State Meet in Round Rock. Savage and the rest of the Rangerettes ran the two-mile course at Mae Simmons Park on Oct.

Greenwood golf season is underway

Body – Greenwood golfers spent Friday and Saturday at the Seminole Invitational golf tournament at Gaines County Golf Course. The Andrews boys were team champions and Seminole won the girls team title.

Youth football teams ready for Week 2 Playoffs

Body – The first week of playoffs for Power 5 Sports League are in the books and the Greenwood Rangers and Greenwood Outlaws have multiple teams advancing to the second rounds. For the Outlaws organization, two of the four teams won their playoff matches.

Body – The most recent district realignment has renewed a once lost district rivalry as Greenwood battled Monahans at J.M. King Memorial Stadium in Greenwood on Friday night.

Rangers open district play this Friday against Monahans

Body – The Greenwood Rangers football team is off to a spectacular start and has done a full 180 from last season recording a 5-1 record through nondistrict competition. The most current victory was a 41-14 win over Lubbock Cooper Liberty on Oct. 4 in Lubbock.

Greenwood sweeps Pecos, Fort Stockton

Body - No. 12-ranked Greenwood went on the road last week to beat Pecos and returned home over the weekend to crush Fort Stock to stay unbeaten in District 3-4A and hold sole possession of first place.
