Elizabeth Creech Shoemaker

STANTON - Elizabeth Creech Shoemaker was born on Aug. 24, 1931, to Robert Bryan and Alice Creech. She married L.R. Shoemaker on Dec. 13, 1949 in Stanton, where they raised their family out at the family farm. She died Nov. 24, 2022. She attended grade school at the McClintock School on the McClintock Ranch in Midland County and at the Garden City school in Garden City. She graduated high school from the Courtney School in Martin County. She really enjoyed her class reunions with her other Courtney classmates.

Survivors include one daughter Trina Shoemaker and her husband Doug Stillwagon; son-in-law Steve Cook; her grandson Nathan Cook and his wife D’Lee and their two sons Carter and Callen; her grandson Brady Cook and his wife Jonna and their three sons Caleb, Colby, and Colton.

She is preceded in death by her husband, L.R. Shoemaker; an infant son at birth Linsey Shoemaker; her son Kevin Shoemaker; her daughter Trica Cook; her parents Robert Bryan and Alice Creech; brothers Howard Creech, Bob Creech, Earl Creech, and Thearl Creech.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Martin County Convent Foundation.

Graveside service was on Nov. 28, at the Evergreen Cemetery in Stanton with the Rev. Bobby Wilson, pastor of the First United Methodist Church in Stanton officiating.

Arrangements were under the direction of Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home & Crematory of Midland.
