GREENWOOD - The Greenwood Rangerettes basketball seasons are off to a good start.
The varsity Rangerettes had no trouble with Big Spring this week crushing the Steers 47-30 in Tuesday’s non-district contest earning their first win.
Grace Gardenhire had a game-high 15 points and Kodi Hartman supplied 14 to help Greenwood to victory.
Adison Savage added seven for the Rangerettes (1-2), who led 29-10 at halftime after Gardenhire made five secondquarter 3s.
Greenwood travels to the Merkel Badgers Tournament on Thursday.
The Rangerettes junior high teams were amazing sweeping Fort Stockton.
7th grade A won 27-11 with Traci Richards high point scoring six.
7th grade B also won 38-10. Sophia Cooley had 10 points and Paisley Keese added six.
8th grade A demolished the competition 58-15. Emily Jones chipped in 20 points and Kailey Harris added 10.
8th grade B dominated 51-4. Paizlee Ellenburg scored 30 points.
Next up on the schedule for the junior high is Dec. 1 match-up with Monahans on the road.
