Fall sports practices are underway

Believe it or not, Monday was the first day of high school football and volleyball practice in West Texas and it all got underway in the cooler morning before the sun was too high in the sky.

All football coaching staff elected to have their teams do a three hour workut in the morning versus breaking it up into the old fashion two-a-day practices.

The thought for the first week of practices is to get the kids back on the field, and getting use to the offense and defense.

On Aug. 5, Greenwood High School will host Midnight Madness. The first full contact scrimmage of the season.

There will be a tailgate in the high school parking lot from 10:30 - 11:45 p.m.

Everyone is encouraged to bring games, music, snacks, and friends to pass the time until the scrimmage begins.

Then at 12:01 a.m., the intra-squad scrimmage will begin at Purser Field. This is a free event.
